1:11 Nathan said to Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother, “Has it been reported to you ¹  that Haggith’s son Adonijah has become king behind our master David’s back? ²

8:27 “God does not really live on the earth! ³  Look, if the sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this temple I have built!

1 Raja-raja 22:11

22:11 Zedekiah son of Kenaanah made iron horns and said, “This is what the Lord says, ‘With these you will gore Syria until they are destroyed.’”

[1:11]  ² tn Heb “and our master David does not know.”

[8:27]  ³ tn Heb “Indeed, can God really live on the earth?” The rhetorical question expects the answer, “Of course not,” the force of which the translation above seeks to reflect.
